In all quality bonsai show, and Summer Bonsai Festival is definitely one of those, the bonsai is always in the focus of attention, this doesn’t mean only the tree! Off course the demo’s and workshops are important, because you need to learn how to care for the plant in order to expose it one day to a show. This year, although in a familiar “Campus” format, the NBSKE brought together a small but fine collection of trees in order to offer the public the best of bonsai art, which we recall are not only trees. We had the honor and pleasure to contemplate a small yet stylish selection of conifers, deciduous, ishizuki, kusamono, shohin and suiseki.
A delicate pine escorted by as well delicate fern, a impressive prunus mahaleb with a spectacular bark, a wild pear caring fruits, two maples that exhale the freshness of the upcoming sommer, ginipers in ishizuki style, a superb spruce in bunjin style, a stump of beech, marvelous kusamono’s, a suggestive suiseki, a shohin composition and more.
My favorits at the show were the bunjin spruce, which I already seen on the social media, but never would have expected such to feel such emotional, so full of joy by the view of this small fellow and a kusamono composition which was very simple yet very special.
The fotos in the gallery never would they give the viewer such feeling as it can give when looking at them live, although I hope everybody appreciate the quality and refinement of each composition because each one has so much love and sacrifice behind them.
